Obituary for Ms. Vanessa Cherry-Davis

Vanessa (Nessa) Lorene Cherry-Davis was born December 10, 1988, in Centreville, Illinois to Loletha Cherry and Derrick Hendrix. She was the eldest child of four siblings. Vanessa transitioned from this life on November 9, 2023.

She graduated from East St Louis Senior High School in 2009. She was employed by Allied Security in
St. Louis, Missouri. Vanessa was a person with a heart of gold. She will be remembered for her
selflessness and always willing to help others. She loved life and loved seeing people smile. She
had a bubbly personality that would warm your heart. She was a doting mother that was patient and
loving to her children. She will be sorely missed.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. She joined the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois under the leadership of Pastor Herman L Watson, Sr. She participated in the Mime Dance Ministry and New Salem Baptist Youth Fellowship.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Three children, Clivon Davis, Calijah Davis, Calyla Davis;
devoted mother, Loletha Cherry of Cahokia Heights, IL; father, Derrick Hendrix of St. Louis, MO, one sister, Uvonne Cherry of East St. Louis, IL, and two brothers, Derrick Cherry and Edtion
Cherry of Cahokia Heights, IL; two aunts, Pamela Cherry of St Louis, MO and Gwendolyn Cobin of
Florissant, MO; one uncle, James Cherry; a very dear great-grandmother, Lorene Mason of Swansea,
IL; two great-aunts, Glenda Mason and Charlotte (Anthony) Hargrove of Swansea, IL; one great-uncle,
Clarence (Betty) Cherry of Belleville, IL; a special friend, Joshua Whittaker and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
