Obituary for Ms. Ruby M. Conrod

A beautiful life ended Saturday, February 24, 2024. When Sister Ruby Mae Conrod was taken away from us. The Lord saw fit to take away her pains and sent her where there is no burdens, pains or tears.

Ruby Mae Trotter Conrod was born to the parents of Henry Lee Trotter and Virley Mae McKinley Raymond in Sunflower, Mississippi on April 3, 1937. Both preceded her in death. She attended grade school in LeFlora, Mississippi.

At the age of seventeen, she was united in Holy Matrimony to her childhood sweetheart Deacon Tom Earven Conrod who preceded her in death. The couple moved from Moorhead, Mississippi to St. Louis, MO in 1954. To this union 9 children were born, five daughters and 4 sons. One daughter (Dorothy) and two sons (Tommie and David) preceded her in death.

She confessed a belief in Christ at an early age and remained a loyal and faithful member at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She served many years as a Deaconess and on the Mother’s Board under the leadership of the late Pastor Dr. Joseph Morgan and current Pastor Dr. J.B. Garris until her health failed.

Ruby was well known by many people. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, a born Christian, friendly, dependable and a respectful person. She was a mother to all.

She was known as Bae Mae to many and well known for her exquisite style. She loved to go shopping and cooking. Never wanted to be in the house, always on the go.

Ruby was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and wonderful friend to many.

Ruby was the Patriarch of the family. She was a bright light to her loved ones. Although that light is now dimmed, it will remain shining bright to everyone who knew and loved her. She fought a good long fight until God called her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Earven Conrod, Sr. (Beatrice) and Joseph Conrod (Ivy Tara), adopted Son Ivory Conrod; four daughters, Frances Hall (Curry who preceded her in death), Genise Washington (RB), Darlene Jamerison (Shawn, Lawrence), Ruby Lee Conrod; daughter-in-law, Lisa Conrod; sisters-in law, Christine, Earnestine and Betty; brothers-in-law, Earnest and Pete; special beloved nephew, (Clover); a very dear special friend, Mr. Leroy Tyse; twenty grandchildren, one preceded her in death (Dennis), April (Tracy preceded her in death), Earven Jr (Candis), Tony (Anitra), Lavitta (John IV), Tresha (Dwight), Lamesa (Jerome), Christopher (Nicole), Derrick, Chrice, Lawanda (Ernest), Stephen, Sterling, Gregory, Nikki (Antonio), Joseph Jr, Nahja (Gabriel), Nahjee, Jeremy and Krystal; forty-five great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and the entire Jerusalem M.B Church Family.

Special thanks and appreciation to our sister Genise Washington for the countless hours and dedication of taking care of our dear mom until the end of life. Words cannot express how grateful we are for her stepping up.
