Vince Staten

I, Vince E. Staten, would like to take this opportunity to share a memory about Ms. Josephine Stubbs. Jo was a very compassionate and very generous person. She would help others during their time of need, even when others couldn't understand why she was bending over backwards for some that really didn't appreciate and deserve her kindness and goodness. As I sat and listened to Jo talk, usually between commercials while watching channel 4, about "back in the day during the 1940's thru the 1960's," that was mostly of how her mom(Lily) made sure that she (Jo) "did this and did that for both, family and strangers. As I observed Jo's giving-spirit in action, I understood why she decided to become a nurse, so that she would always be in a position to help, to assist, and to care for those in need. I remember Jo saying that she would always be around to feed, clothe, and care for my daughter, Jance, until she was grown (age 30). Sadly, I have to admit, with watery eyes, that Jo kept her word, because my daughter, Jance, turned 30 on January 3, 2020. That is the most outstanding memory that I have of Ms. Josephine Stubbs. May Jo "sleep" until my God, Jehovah, allow His Son, Jesus Christ to awaken all those in the memorial tombs (John 5:28, 29) during the resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteousness. (Acts 24:15)
