Obituary for Mr. Damon Harris

Mr. Damon Matthew (Moon) Harris was born February 4,1978 in East St. Louis, IL to the parents of Rose M. Harris, and Marvin M. Young.

Damon confessed his love for Christ at an early age. Later, he joined Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of late Rev. Dr. Norman E. Owens Sr.

Damon attended Lincoln Senior High School and graduated in 1996. Damon then attended McKendree College and received his degree in Business Administration. He began working for St. Louis Public Schools, and worked there for several years. Later, he started driving for FedEx. Damon had a passion for cooking, and coaching little league football. He was a family man and had a heart of gold.

Damon was preceded in his death by both his parents; one sister, Ms. Trecia Chandler; and a brother, Mr. Sherman Nicholson.

He leaves to cherish his memories of his loving and devoted wife, Tamico Harris of Cahokia Heights, IL; three daughters, Dajiah Phiffer, Jesmine Myers, Jessica Myers; four sons, Corey Hoffman, Jessie Myers, Jestine Myers, and Jeshon Myers; five sisters, Chiquita (Tony) Adams of Belleville, IL, Rhonda (Gregory) Coleman of Fairview Heights, IL, Ramona (Lamont) McGraw of Belleville, IL, Shalonda (Rodney) Walker of Swansea, IL, Crystal Frierson of Hagerstown, MD; one adopted sister, Marilyn Smith of Little Rock, AR; three brothers, Marvin (Michelle) Young Sr. of Grand Prairie, TX, Kent (Portia) Young Sr. of Belleville, IL, and Myron Chandler of East St. Louis, IL; three beautiful grandchildren, a host of cousins, other family and friends; and a special friend, Walter Hill.
