Dear Dorsey family, It's impossible to express adequately condolences and sympathy on the loss of Allen. His smile always was brightest when he talked about you and manifest his love, respect, and appreciation for each of you. His love for and joy in his family and in Christ are lasting legacies. May your countless memories of times together fill you with peace and hope, and may God bless you, in Jesus' name. Ashley Day

Allen was the chief architect of the Gang, former members of The Organization of Minority Business Students (OMBS) at SIUE. He motivated and charmed us to follow him on many of his adventures. He taught us to dream and reach for the stars! We all had fun when we were on an adventure with him. Allen insisted on the continued fellowship and engagement with his SIUE alumni buddies; and because of it we all have been blessed with life-long friends. Allen was a unique and positive force for good. He gave us strength in times of crisis , and he shared his knowledge and experience in times of doubt. We believe he loved his life, his family and close friends completely and lived always with intensity. That is a rare gift. He was a great motivator that always had encouraging words to say. His positivity was unmatched, and the world is a less positive place without him. His children benefited so much from having him as a role model. Even after close to 30 years of marriage, he referred to his wife as his bride. The Gang will always be there for the Dorsey family; as Deborah and Allen have always been there for each of us. Our lives are richer because of Allen, and he will never leave us. Allen will live on for a very long time. He leaves a lasting legacy through all of you and all of us. We love and miss Allen, but will never forget him...The Gang
