Crook, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jewel (Vannoy) Crook; daughters, Maggie (Boo) Byrd-Dickens, Sandra (Dump) Crook, Veletta (Let) Crook and Donna (Bonnie-Starr) Crook all of Madison, Illinois; sons, Johnnie Sam Crook, Jr. (Shelia) of East St. Louis, Illinois and Glenne (Butch) Crook of Madison, Illinois; two sisters, Octavia Strong and Kathryn R. Tolen both of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, William Crook, Sr. of East St. Louis, Illinois; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; special god-daughter, Valorie Hunter (Val) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
